The Vice- Chancellor of the University of Jos, Professor Sabastine Maimako has called on all its former students who bear the certificate of the institution to look back at their former school with a view of helping their alma mata.

Dr. Otsemobor who is currently undergoing a doctorate degree programme at the Faculty of Natural Science has all alone undertaken the renovation of the faculty building at the main campus, Bauchi Road Jos.

The VC made the call in a remark during the inauguration of the renovated building. Represented by Professor Lami Lumbin, the VC said, “UniJos can boast of its former students that are doing well in their various fields of endeavour across the world.

“While the former graduands are making personal progress using the knowledge acquired from the school, the school itself is lacking in several infrastructural facilities.”

He further stressed “So I will used this opportunity to inaugurate a project carried out by an alumni to call on others that graduated from this institution to try and come back to their former school and see the condition of the school they graduated years ago.

“The school is so appreciative of the gesture by this particular former student to embark on this project, the faculty is now wearing a new look.

“In the same spirit, if other could come and do one or two project, the school will get developed, because the university need to maintain its academic quality standard that it is known for.”

The VC commended Dr. Otsemobor for the gesture and said the school would ever live to remember her contribution.

Earlier in a remarks, “Dr. Otsemobor, who sponsored the project said, “I was trained by this school for my Masters Degree and I’m here on my doctorate degree programme. On resuming here, I did not like the look of the floor of this faculty, but instead of comparing, I decided to use my NGO to do it. I am somebody who don’t like to see thing going wrong and look the other way. I’m always passionate about my environment.

University of Jos Alumni, director who was represented by Mr. Adoration Dashit expressed gratitude with the alumni member who decided to embark on the renovation.

Conte: Chelsea must learn to kill matches

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte says his side must learn to kill off matches quicker following their 3-2 League Cup win over Bristol Rovers. Michy Batshuayi scored two goals either side of a Victor Moses strike at Stamford Bridge to send the home side into the third round, but they were given a fright when the visitors twice halved a two-goal deficit through Peter Hartley and an Ellis Harrison penalty. The victory is Conte's third in competitive matches as Chelsea boss, following 2-1 wins over West Ham and Watford in the Premier League - both of which came about thanks to late goals from Diego Costa. And the former Italy boss wants his players to become more ruthless in their approach in order to prevent similarly nervy encounters in future. "These games are very tough," he told BBC Radio London Sport. "When you dominate the game, you must kill the game. In this case, we didn't do this. "It's a pity because when you're playing very well, creating a lot...
