The Nigerian Air Force has killed an undisclosed number of Boko Haram leaders during a raid on the Sambisa Forest hideout of the insurgents. The Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman, said in a statement on Tuesday that the leader of the group, ‘Abubakar Shekau’ was seriously wounded on the shoulders during the raid. Usman, who listed the killed Boko Haram leaders to include Abubakar Mubi, Mallam Nuhu and Mallam Hamman, amongst others, added that several others were wounded. He said fighter pilots of the NAF carried out the raid on August 19,2016 when the insurgents were performing Friday rituals at Taye village, Gombale general area within the Sambisa Forest, Borno State.
